David Moyes will have zero transfer budget C&P
West Ham David Moyes will need to work with zero transfer budget this summer knowing he will have to sell to buy to bring in new faces.

Sources close to the club have confirmed that there are no funds available due to the Hammers huge loss of income from season tickets, corporate hospitality and match income.

Limited stadium capacities will also have a dramatic financial impact on next season even if some supporters return.

Losses for this season are expected to be huge as a combination of the spending under the previous manager and director of football combined with the impact of the global pandemic.

Moyes has been authorised to sell luxury and fringe players within the current squad to fund new arrivals of a few new faces and the board are said to have high hopes for David Moyes next season.

The manager took time to find his best starting XI and put his stamp on the team, but his best is still to come.

Re: David Moyes will have zero transfer budget C&P
Not been through the whole thread but given it's about money, the seating conversion at the London Stadium is costing 11.5m quid. Who is paying for this? I cannot imagine it is a broke stadium management company. I would not be surprised if the club are funding this. If so then that could be where some cash is diverted. I know we already had loans that were due and we always seem to borrow against future TV money. In reality we just aren't seeing returns from expensive signings.

I'm sure there is money but our wage bill is ridiculous. We have been saddled for years with players on big salaries that get injured or whose form drops after signing a big deal. Fans are fickle though, there would have been outrage if Reid hadn't been given a deal before the injuries, a broadside at the board if they had let Lanzini leave even though he hadn't proved he was back to his best. Long deals, poor value. Anderson, Haller, Yarmalenko, Wilshere, all on big salaries.

Don't get me wrong, we are always going to have to pay over the odds salaries to attract those with quality and we have been really unlucky that a number of our signings or re-signings have suffered injuries that have stalled or killed promising careers. We have to move players on though to replace them.

We have already shifted Zabaleta and Sanchez off the wage bill. I won't be unhappy to shift a few more before we buy if they aren't contributing.

RICE !!! Yes certain to be tapped up by Frank and Chelsea...BUT..provided Declan..wants to stay and play..then give him a raise...and the Captains arm band....and yes there will be some games where Noble if he wishes can play alongside...And, not enough was made of Nobles 500 th Game for the Hammers !!! In these days of pandemic..it is important to have players like Noble and Rice around to retain something of a West Ham Identity...AND...while we are at it..we need to buy/contract a good reserve keeper...Roberto cost us many many games.. Stowie - yea agree, he has been a successful signing overall. Think he can get over criticized on here, on his day he can still be very good. My main criticism of him is that he should man up a bit more and not worry about his hair getting out of place.

Cresswell has been well worth the money we paid for him and then some. Not good enough now but first 2 seasons he was our best left back since Julian.

"What is he going to learn under Cresswell? "

How to be a good professional, prepare yourself for premier league games. How to make the step up from the lower leagues and what will help. How to be an understudy and what will help when you get a first team chance. That kinda thing.

Do some people think that Cresswell wasn't a good signing for us? Judging from some of the negative comments on here about him. Been here 6 years for Ł3.5m fee. There are better left backs but not for that money and certainly not at West Ham for the last few years.

Must admit I haven’t seen Huddersfield play at all this season but Karlan Grant has a good record in a poor team and has had a full season under his belt.
He scored against us in the 4-3 game when they went down & looked a likely sort.
6ft & 22 & a Londoner formerly of Charlton

Re: David Moyes will have zero transfer budget C&P
Grant wouldn’t be a bad signing, do feel we need a forward who can hurt teams with pace in behind. Josh King maybe even when Bournemouth go down.

Great idea that. Take a promising youngster and turn him into another fucking Cresswell.

A lot has been made of us losing 24 points from losing positions, but we’ve also only gained 4 points from winning positions. Only Bournemouth away and Chelsea at home saw us get anything after falling behind.

The TV cash cow and these fvckers will bleed it dry. Remember they will sell the club without ever putting a penny in.

So the ÂŁ30 million of money put in by a share rights issue, in early July, doesn't count then?

What is he going to learn under Cresswell?

Re: David Moyes will have zero transfer budget C&P
For my money, we've ended up in a false position this season. An analysis of how and why we came to lose 24 points from winning positions along with the "Roberto effect" (and these two probably overlap), might help identify the steps needed to get us to where we arguably should be - in the group finishing 7 to 11, hopefully at the higher end. Financially there are 6/7 clubs we are not equipped to compete with. Moyes should be up to that relatively modest objective?

Re: David Moyes will have zero transfer budget C&P
As much as our spending prowess, teams in the championship will be needing to sell so prices will fall across the board. That young Huddersfield striker Karlan Grant is only 22 and bagged almost 1 every two games. The Crewe left back Pickering would be a good option to learn under cresswell too.

We've seen from Antonio, Bowen, Cresswell that young hungry championship players with upside will be the best option for us under Moyes and with these owners.

On second thoughts yes...

We'd still have Snodgrass who works very hard on the pitch and in training, knows both the championship and the premierleague. He would help "raise them" and help them adjust.

Bowen/Snodgrass- Fornals/Eze - Benrahma/Diangana

-----------------------------Antonio - Haller

Great front 4 options imo

The one thing you can always count on is Sullivan and Gold's love of money and the power they need to get from it. Otherwise they face the truth of who they are... a couple of spivvy perverts who would struggle to get women and/or an erection :-) they are so old now.

So soon as the Covid thing hit the economy and also not being satisfied with clawing back a lot of the Pellegrini's spending via the sales at the beginning of this season, they now want to bank all the TV money to restore the losses from personal wealth they have suffered in their other businesses.

The TV cash cow and these fvckers will bleed it dry. Remember they will sell the club without ever putting a penny in. Even the initial 50 million will have been recouped and with interest.

Not a problem if they did not pretend they were the best thing that has ever happened to the club. Their legacy will be shocking. Reviled forever for what they did.

They are a couple of abhorrent, narcissistic old men.

Think what they meant is.

We have zero transfer budget.

Now we have Soucek that is -15 mill.

So 1/2 players need to be sold before another one comes in.

We are in a pickle.
